Expertly crafted and pruned from a young age, these topiary balls, also known as “Spheres” feature dense foliage in a beautifully symmetrical form. Ideal for planting both in the garden and feature planter pots. Small and regular pruning will maintain the plants beautiful shape. One of their most popular uses is for framing a garden entrance or plant in decorative feature pots either side of a doorway. Japanese Box or Buxus is known to me one of the faster growing varieties of the Buxus Family, making these a popular plant choice for Topiary work.

How do I care for my Japanese Box Topiary Balls? Several small prunes a year will keep Japanese Box looking in a neat and clean shape. Use sharp sheers and keep standing back to get a better view of the shape you are creating. Using a ruler / height guide is an easy way to achieve a constant height. Water and fertalise the plant well after a prune. Using a quality product such as Top Buxus is a great way to keep your English Box in good health. Alternatively a slow release fertaliser will also work well.
What is the main difference between English Box and Japanese Box? Both plants are fantastic choices for low hedging and garden borders. Typically, English Box has a darker appearance and is a little slower in its growth, however is a classic and ever popular choice. The Japanese Box foliage is a little lighter, more lime tones with a slightly difference in leaf shape. Japanese Box will grow a little quicker and larger than English, which needs to be considered when looking at the long term design you are wishing to achieve. Japanese Box is also more suitable to hotter climates or coastal areas.
Can I keep my Japanese Box in a pot? Yes you can, you may find in a few years time you need to increase the size of your planter. Plants in pots will also dry out more quickly than they would if they were in the ground, keep an eye on the moisture level to prevent the plant drying out.
Will my plant be delivered pruned? Yes all plants receive a fresh prune prior to delivery. If your plant is being delivered in the peak of summer, it may be delivered to you unpruned to avoid burning of the freshly cut foliage. If this is the case, you will be informed of this prior to delivery.

How Does Delivery Work?
Orders are usually delivered within a couple of days after orders are received, with busy days or peak seasons (e.g Spring), sometimes taking a few additional days for delivery.
Once your order is ready for shipment we will contact you prior to advise on your estimated delivery day and time.
On your delivery day our driver will call you half an hour prior to delivery.
For most deliveries, the plants will be placed in the front garden in a safe and secure location. For advanced-size plants, we will arrange for curb-side delivery.
Please note that unfortunately drivers will not enter into apartment buildings. For additional delivery information please contact us on orders@impressiveplants.com
Can I See The Plants In Person?
Our plants cannot be viewed in person, as we minimise our costs by not having a physical retail shop.

How Much Does Delivery Cost?
Standard delivery charge for Metro Melbourne is $77. For bulk quantities of 30 or more, commercial projects or oversized plants in 100ltr pots, please submit a quote for custom delivery quote.
Regional customers, please submit a quote for a custom delivery price.
Can I Place An Order If I Am Located Regionally Or Interstate?
Yes you can.
We are also able to arrange deliveries to NSW.
Your delivery will arrive via a professional plant transportation company.
Please note if you are ordering plants outside Victoria, first check with your states horticultural guidelines as not all plants are able to be supplied interstate.
Your plants will arrive with one of our partnered interstate delivery companies. Impressive Plants does not place any mark up on Interstate orders, the price is purely cost only. Prices for interstate orders start from $250.
How Long Will It Take For My Order To Arrive?
Generally orders are delivered within a few days. We will inform you which day your plants will arrive.
The day prior to your delivery we will let you know an approximate time of delivery.

How Will My Plants Be Delivered?

We try our hardest to ensure that most orders will arrive in one delivery, however if you are ordering a specialty item such as a Japanese Maple, this may arrive separately from one of our specialty growers. This gives you the best plants from the best growers.
How Do I Pay For My Order?
You can purchase directly online via checkout or if you submit your order for a quote we will send you an invoice via email, and you can choose from various payment options, including bank transfers, PayPal, and credit card.
Will My Plants Look Like The Photos?
Yes, our photos are regularly updated to reflect the current availability of plants, their heights, sizes, and prices. If you require additional photos or confirmation of plant heights, we are always available to provide you with the information you need to make a confident purchase.
Please understand if your are purchasing a deciduous plant, the photos will show plants with their foliage.
