Leighton Green is low maintenance, hardy plant, suitable for farm land, rural areas and wide open spaces. With a fast rate of growth, Leighton Greens can easily be pruned into a topiary style hedge. Once established, their water requirements are low, making them a excellent choice for an easy care plant.

Do I need to prune Leighton Greens?

Most people select these cypress plants for its mature size, however if you wish to keep it clipped to a smaller size, a prune in late summer can keep them to more compact size.

 

Can I plant Leighton Green if I have clay soil?

Yes you can! Try and dig up the soil as much as possible and add a product such as Gypsum to break up the clay. Try and build up the soil if possible so that water doesn’t well at the base of the plant.
