Description

Introducing Olive Pagon Standards. A contemporary twist on a classic plant. These beauties are ideal for fence line planting and for framing the entrance to your home or garden. The stem of the plant will remain the same size, while the “Ball” of the plant will continue to flush out fresh new foliage. Ideal for both in ground planting and feature planter pots. Olives have low water requirements once established, making them suitable to warm climates and coastal homes.

Commonly Asked Questions

Will my Olive Standards continue to get taller?

Olive standards have been grafted so that the “stem” of the plant remains the same height, however the “head” of the plant will continue to grow. Small, regular prunes will encourage their beautiful shape. Graft heights to vary, for your preference, please speak to our friendly staff.

When should I prune my Olives?

Giving your olives a prune will encourage thicker growth, a prune in late winter / early spring is ideal. If your area is prone to frost, steer clear of pruning this time of year as freshly cut tips can easily be burnt.

Can I keep my Olive Standards in a pot?

Yes they are, select a planter that has plenty of room for the plant to continue to grow and remain healthy. Rotating the plant every few months will also encourage even overall growth. Remember to keep up the water if your olive is in a pot, as potted plants dry out more quickly than plants in the ground.
