What is the main difference between Lemon Eureka and Lemon Meyer?

Meyer lemons are sweeter, less acidic, and have a slight orange-like flavor, while Eureka lemons are more tart, tangy, and traditionally sour. Meyer lemons are often preferred for desserts and fresh use, while Eureka is commonly used for cooking and juicing.

 

How do I get my Lemons to produce delicious fruit?

The location of citrus is especially important, as they will prefer a full sun location for optimal health. Look into disease prevention and use a quality fertalizer that has been especially designed for citrus. Good draining is also a must, along with a layer of mulch will also help keep the moisture in the soil. A well hydrated plant will produce juicy fruit.

 

When do Lemons produce fruit?

It can take a couple of years for lemons to produce fruit, be patient and look after the health of your plant and you will be rewarded. Lemons will produce fruit in late Autumn through to Winter. Most varieties will have one crop per year, where as the Lemon Eureka tends to produce two crops a year, with a longer duration, making it the most popular of all lemon varieties.

 

Are Citrus suitable for planter pots?

They sure are, citrus thrive in pots, making them ideal for small gardens, courtyards and rental properties. Make sure your plant stays well hydrated as potted plants dry out more quickly than they would in the ground. Rotate the pot ever few months to encourage even growth all over the plant.
