Introducing the BetterGreen Cypress Madeline, a brilliant low-maintenance evergreen with canker resilience properties. Highly praised for its quick growth rate, this brilliant plant has been found to grow 30% faster than compared to standard Leighton Greens. Perfect for evergreen screening, windbreaks, and property division, this versatile Cypress can also be expertly pruned for impressive topiary-style hedges.
How far apart should I plant Bettergreen Cypress?
For a screening hedge, 1.5-2.5m apart is ideal for creating a thick screening / windbreaking hedge.
Do I need to prune Bettergreen Cypress?
Most people select Bettergreens for its mature size; however, if you wish to keep it clipped to a smaller size, a prune in late summer can keep them to a more compact size.
Can I plant Bettergreen Cypress if I have clay soil?
Yes, you can! Dig up the soil as much as possible and add a product such as Gypsum to break up the clay. If possible, Try to build up the soil so that water doesn’t well at the base of the plant.
Can Bettergreens still be affected by Canker?
Yes they can, however Bettergreens are a terrific variation that is less susceptible to canker. If they do develop Canker, because of their quick growth rate, they have been found to grow through the canker more effectively than a regular Leighton Green.
